About

I build partnerships
that outlast the project

I’m Fabrizio De Liberali — partnership architect, fractional advisor, leadership coach, and multi-venture founder. My work sits at the intersection of strategy, trust, and execution: helping ventures and leadership teams build the relationships, governance structures, and operational frameworks that actually move things forward.

Over 25 years I’ve led global product and partnership functions across some of the most complex commercial environments in tech — from Vodafone, where I ran global product leadership spanning M&A, R&D, legal and regulatory strategy, to Digi.me, where as CPO I helped build personal data mobility infrastructure with clients including BT, Barclays, BBC, and Meta. Today I operate as a fractional strategic partnerships advisor through Fab Campaigns, working 1–2 days per week embedded inside select ventures — based in the UK, with active engagements across European mountain regions and emerging markets worldwide.

Over years of embedded advisory work, I’ve developed a suite of proprietary frameworks — including the Information Classification Protocol (ICP), the Chinese Wall governance model, and the Partnership Principles — that I now license and deliver to clients as standalone training, certification, and implementation programmes. These aren’t theoretical constructs: they’ve been shaped through ventures I lead directly — Smart Mountains and Imprese Favolose — and through the advisory work I do with leadership teams navigating complex partnerships.

How I Think

Five principles that guide everything

Partnerships Over Transactions

A relationship built on mutual value outlasts any single deal. The best partnerships don’t start with a contract — they start with a shared view of what success looks like.

Embedding Over Advising

Being inside the room — not commenting from outside it — is where the real work happens. Fractional doesn’t mean distant.

Adventure Over Comfort

The best partnerships, like the best routes, require committing before you can see the whole line. Certainty is a luxury; courage is the operating currency.

Presence Over Performance

Showing up consistently matters more than showing up brilliantly once. Trust is built in the ordinary moments.

Growth Through Discomfort

The frameworks that stick are the ones tested under real pressure — not in workshops, but in the field, with real stakes.

Board & Governance

Building a NED portfolio

Alongside my fractional advisory work, I’m actively developing a Non-Executive Director career — bringing my background in strategic partnerships, technology governance, and environmental ventures to boards where independent thinking and real operational experience matter.

I work with Nurole to identify the right opportunities, and soon, a member of the Institute of Directors. I’m based in Winchester and in London every two weeks — available for board commitments across the UK and Europe, with a particular interest in public appointments, environmental organisations, and technology ventures operating in mountain and climate-exposed territories.

Sectors of interest for NED roles

Environmental intelligence & climate tech  ·  Technology governance  ·  Public bodies & national park authorities  ·  International ventures operating across the UK, Europe, and mountain regions globally

Beyond the Work

The terrain shapes the thinking

I’m based in Winchester, UK, with deep roots in the Dolomites — the mountain landscape that shaped how I think about risk, commitment, and collective movement through uncertain terrain. When I’m not embedded in a venture, I’m likely climbing, ski touring, or leading a mountain bike group somewhere with a good descent and bad mobile signal.

These aren’t hobbies I keep separate from my work — they are the work, refracted through a different medium. The way a team moves through uncertain terrain, manages risk collectively, and commits to a line before they can see the whole route: that’s the same intelligence I bring to leadership coaching and partnership architecture. I run outdoor-anchored leadership sessions that use the mountain environment as a direct learning context — for individuals and small teams who want to develop differently.
