Fabrizio de Liberali – Founder
22+ years of background in digital: Apps, ERPs, APIs, telematics and more.
Father of three superstars, curious about any form of art involving creative imagination (literature, visual, performing, cooking and more). I’m a local civil servant to give back to my local community.
35+ years in mountaineering, climbing, ski-touring, hiking and mountain biking. Outdoor activities where you need both mental and physical resilience and grit.
Born and bred in the Dolomites near Venice, I studied economics and statistics at the Bocconi University in Milan. I will make the world a better place with data science. I worked first for the University and then as a project manager for Dun & Bradstreet, delivering to Telecoms and Oil & Gas Corporates. I then joined the Italian Vodafone/Verizon joint venture “Omnitel” tasked with “special projects”: voice over IP convergence, Telematics, Premium Messaging and APIs, and Dedicated Private Networks. Then moved to the UK as Global Product Manager for Vodafone, where I delivered successful apps (millions of users) and APIs (millions of calls/day). Then product lead for the due diligence of a telematics company acquired by a telco. I left Vodafone at the end of 2015.
I then created Fab Campaigns Ltd in 2016 to support some of my consultancy assignments. In doing that I created a couple of lifestyle businesses using Fab Campaigns to learn a lot of skills on how to create my own digital businesses presence from scratch. How can I consult customers on digital tools and personal data if I don’t use these tools myself systematically? To be completely honest I created those businesses also to share my passion for the outdoors and local products.
In 2016 one of Fab Campaigns customers was a personal data start-up called digi.me. After six months of consultancy assignment, I became their Chief Product Officer in 2017, where I helped focus the vision, mission and product roadmap. At the end of 2020 I decided to leave digi.me as I didn’t share the same views on the changes to bring our vision and product to market.
In the last months I created Smart Mountains Ltd as I want to do my part for the environment using everything I learned in digital, data analytics and telematics. Again Fab Campaigns is how “I drink my own champagne” by supporting the creation of Smart Mountains Ltd.
I’m also working on a couple of exciting consultancy engagements in personal data and identity. More to come!
